Flexibility Training
Louise will lead you through a stretching session designed to improve your Skater Flexibility, enhance relaxation, enable balance and core strength gain. Suitable for all levels and abilities.
We use a variety of techniques and timings in Flexibility Training to ease the body through the stretches rather than force them.
Methods such as Passive, Dynamic, Active, Isometric Stretching etc. Stretching performed properly can not only lengthen the muscles to create greater range of movement but also improve muscle imbalance and body stability, prevent injuries and aid recovery.
The first half of the class consists of a few core stability and conditioning exercises. This is usually short but relatively intense but appropriate for all, to get the blood pumping and to switch on the key muscles around your abdomen and lower back. After which, we continue in to a short but thorough stretch designed to maintain and improve your flexibility.
We will begin by mobilising the body from head to toe to warm up the muscles and the synovial fluid in the joints. Louise will lead you through a stretch session designed to safely and progressively increase your flexibility over time. As class time allows, we work our way through a whole body stretch with particular attention on legs and lower back.
Both Flexibility Training classes require no formal commitment beyond a single class booking, however like with everything, instant results are not guaranteed and regular attendance is advised. Flexibility is a great class to compliment the other classes you attend but can also be booked in isolation.
NOTE: It is imperative that all students listen carefully and work within their own capabilities and limits to avoid injury.
