Jump Training
In this Jump Training class, we will work on your figure skating jump technique off ice through a combination of strength exercises, balance techniques and jump specific guidance.
Attention is given to participants in both a group and individual format. This ensures everyone receives the personal coaching points they require.

Louise has a breadth of knowledge of ice skating technique, biomechanics, physics and sports science. She works through problems, exercises, drills and technique to provide students with the knowledge for their “toolkit. Thus preparing them for more efficient and effective training and practice time.
The Jump Training class opens with a simple warm up to get the body moving and stable. This is then followed by a series of jump drills and exercises to condition the body, work through key positions required through each phase of a jump pass, increase jump height and speed of rotation etc. After this we work through some specific jump technique relevant to each of the skating jumps including Axel, Salchow, Toeloop, Loop, Flip and Lutz.
Whether you are working on Singles, Doubles or Triples the class content can be adapted to you. Louise has constructed in a way in which everyone can gain from it and each individual receives the individual corrections they require, if appropriate.
The class is not designed to make you jump at the sacrifice of good quality elements or sound technique. Louise’s forte is technique and attention to detail. It is not all about what you do but also about how you do it in order to satisfy both the technical panel and the judging panel and to in-still confidence in yourself
